Chiswick and Brentford East Update |
||
|
Good afternoon, as always thank you for being part of the Met Engage Community. Do still encourage you neighbours and residents groups to sign up. As we move into the busiest months of the year historically for crime I would remind you to be aware of your surroundings and belongings. Do not leave bags in cars(even in the boot they are visible with a torch through the gaps), be careful if you are putting bags down for example in the local pubs and make sure that windows and doors are closed and locked when you go out. Please also report any suspicious behaviour. Over the last month we have been busy gathering evidence and identifying offenders linked to acquisitive crime. Two offenders who have caused huge problems for shops across Chiswick we have now obtained 5 year Criminal Behaviour Orders on- James JOYCE of no fixed abode has been banned completely from Chiswick and Brentford East, Hounslow Town Centre and Richmond Town Centre as well as further conditions relating to retail theft such as not wearing hats or face coverings in shops along with having proof of purchase for retail goods. He is also banned from being drunk or drinking alcohol in public outside of a licenced premises. Daniel RANSOM of no fixed abode has been banned completely from the entire Borough of Hounslow. He also has conditions linked to shoplifting and drug usage. We previously obtained a closure order on an address in Chiswick where Ransom was living. We will be showing a zero tolerance approach to both of these prolific offenders if they breach their orders. We also have a number of other CBO applications in the process of going through court and in doing so we are sending a clear message to those that come to Chiswick to commit crime that there will be long term consequences to their behaviour here. As part of proactive operations on the High Road we arrested one suspect for over £4k of retail theft and another who was being aggressive in a shop was stop and searched and found to be in possession of Class A drugs and a Knife. Both have been charged to court. PCSO Bates from Brentford East has been conducting site assessments for speeding operations across Chiswick and Brentford. One operation on Sutton Court Road caught 9 people speeding in the first 30 minutes including one vehicle doing 36mph in a 20mph zone. Be warned that more mobile speed operations across the area are being planned. We also teamed up with officers from Brentford West and Osterley Wards to conduct traffic operations across Brentford and Chiswick, 5 vehicles were seized for no insurance and 6 people were processed for driving offences.
